A truly incredible tribute to the rub-a-dub sound...

Mungo's Hi Fi is, without putting too fine a point on it, a bit of a remarkable institution.

For some time now, one of the loudest, proudest, most forward thinking reggae crews in the land has been operating out of Glasgow. Just let that sink in for a second.

Smashing together the old with the new, the rare with the classic, Mungo's Hi Fi has established an international reputation for bass-bin shakin' bedlam.

New album 'You See Me Star' is out now via the crew's own Scotch Bonnet imprint, featuring guest vocals from the inimitable Charlie P. An enthralling return, it offers yet more evidence that when Mungo's Hi Fi can't scour the perfect beat, they'll simply make it themselves.

With a summer of live dates fast approaching, Mungo's Hi Fi kindly agreed to piece together the latest instalment of the Clash DJ Mix.

In true soundsystem style there ain't no tracklist here – instead, you'll have to find your own way through a stunning mash up of reggae, dancehall, bashment, dub and much, much more.

Mungo's: "The rub-a-dub sound in early 80s Jamaican dancehall is something that has been crucial to the formation of our sound system; from Yellowman to Little John, Volcano to Black Scorpio you can hear the influence of this music in our productions and the style in which we run our dances. This mix is a selection of dubplate specials we've collected for Mungo's. These tunes are recorded especially for our sound and can only be played by our sound - a tradition that also started in the early 80s dancehall."

"We hope you enjoy listening to this mix as much as we enjoyed recording it; these dubs still give us butterflies!"
