7 Of The Best: Angus & Julia Stone

Australian duo reveal their tour bus soundtrack...
Angus & Julia Stone

Well, they have to spend those long hours on the road somehow.

Since debut album 'A Book Like This' arrived back in 2007 sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone have travelled the world, taking their gilded, acoustic flavoured beach hymns with them wherever they go.

Heading back into the studio, the pair sealed off work on their new album earlier this year. Produced by Rick Rubin, sessions have pushed Angus & Julia Stone into brave, autobiographical territory, revealing more than ever before.

Out this week, the self-titled record is set to be accompanied by a typically lung-bursting international tour. In preparation for this, the pair have been rifling through the record racks to provide a soundtrack for those long journeys.

Here are 7 Of The Best: Tour Anthems picked by Angus & Julia Stone.

Beck - Blue Moon
This song is perfect for waking up in the morning. The feel of it. And this lyric kills me: "cut me down to size so I can fit inside, lies that will divide us both in time."

Townes Van Zandt - I'll Be Here In The Morning
Something so relatable to anyone who is always coming and going. Such a wonderful songwriter.

Here We Go Magic - How Do I Know
"How do I know if I love you, how do I know if I know you?" The mystery of love - we never really know someone even when we do.

Cat Power - Ruin
I love this song! Good reminder as well not to complain about touring life: "bitching, complaining when some ṗeople who ain't got shit to eat."

James Blake - A Case Of You
The words, his voice, the piano. It's so perfect and heart breaking. Looking out the window on the bus. Dreaming of the magic dancer.

Sylvan Esso - Coffee
Perfect song for a dance or a kiss. It's so sweet and graceful- natural and direct.

Joy Division - Disorder
Fun to dance to. Good after-show song.
