Chirpy Canadian indie-rockers Born Ruffians have themselves a pair of sevens out this week – one being ‘Little Garçon’ backed by ‘Ready For Bed’; the other ‘Coldness Hot’ backed by ‘Wedding Rings And Midnight Strollers’.
ClashMusic.com, being the kind sorts we are, is offering readers a chance to try before you buy – sample ‘Little Garçon’ below. Also available is a 12” remix EP, featuring re-workings by Four Tet and White Williams. All are issued by Warp.
For latecomers: Born Ruffians released their acclaimed debut album ‘Red, Yellow & Blue’ earlier this year – it’s among the runners and riders on the Clash office’s Wall Of Records Of The Year Of 2008… or whatever we’re calling it today. Basically: it’s great, you should get it. The band were the second act (after Foals) to appear on Channel 4 show Skins, they had their music on a mobile phone ad (quids in), and recently completed their first headline UK tour.
In addition to the below stream, you can get yourself a free download of the track ‘Badonkadonkey’ (no, us neither), taken from ‘Red, Yellow & Blue’. Just click the link below.
Stream ‘Little Garçon’ below. Coming tomorrow: something a bit tasty from Swedish popsters Those Dancing Days.
