Track Of The Day 30/10: Lords

Unleash 'Creatures'

This text will be replaced

Lords are a Nottingham trio soaked in influences of Hendrix, ZZ Top, Captain Beefheart, whilst draped veils of blues and jazz.

For three southern lads to be lurking beneath this bass-laden, deep-south americana scuzz is bewildering. The result is something beautifully unexpected, that spawned a pleasingly dulcet sound of 70's party rock hitting QOTSA's 'Lullabies to Paralyze'.

Our Track of the Day, 'Creatures', comes straight from their recent LP, 'Everyone Is The People'. The album succeeds 'It Ain't A Hate Thing, It's A Love Thing' which, at the time, was considered a side project. 'Creatures' sees Lords at their most energetic with lumbering riffs and vocalist, Philip Wielding, seems almost in competition with his guitar to see who can take the song higher.
'Everyone Is The People' was released October 6th on Nottingham based Gringo Records.
