Today’s Track of the Day’s a beautifully bonkers pop number sure to shake off the Monday blues…

Hailing from Manchester, Cats In Paris are one of the more eccentric domestic acts to emerge in 2008, with their ‘Courtcase 2000’ album (available via the Akoustik Anarkhy label) racking up the critical points.

‘The Curse Of Jonah Brian’ is a pick of the album’s eleven screwball-indie offerings, coming on like Los Campesinos! trapped in a 1950s fairytale, its storyline governed by the whims of such avant-corers as Deerhoof and Animal Collective. It’s a luscious slice of out-there indulgence – sweeping of moan and emotive of tone, and sure to get a toe tapping.
