Ah, Friday. A time for the planning of fun, for the relaxing of souls; for the resting of fingers worn to the bone through excessive tap-tapping on a laptop in pursuit of telling the world about Great New Music.
Clash has had a pretty good week, all told – we’ve spoken to a series of genuinely excellent acts, including Empire Of The Sun, School Of Seven Bells and Asobi Seksu. It ain’t every week that happens (yeah, we’re guilty of the odd shake ‘n’ fake, what about it?).
We’ve also been over the Channel, seeing Amsterdam and Paris in the company of energetic Scottish rockers Dananananaykroyd – look for plenty of related content in the magazine and here on ClashMusic.com in the near future.
And now: our final Track of the Day of the week, from another act we’re quite partial to. Howling Bells have been off the radar for a wee while, working on the follow-up to their excellent self-titled debut, but now the Australian foursome are back with ‘Radio Wars’, a record that sure as heck makes good on all the early promise shown by the quartet.
The band – Juanita Stein, Joel Stein, Brendan Picchio and Glenn Moule – release a single, ‘Cities Burning Down’, on February 23 and tour the UK in March in support of both that and their second album, due in March. Said single is today’s Track of the Day – stream it below – and see the band live as follows…
