Track Of The Day 3/8 - Amirali

House is enjoying a resurgence of late.

The bass scene has flipped on its head, adopting the lighter textures of house as its own. Sure, there’s been a lot of interesting music created but few producers are offering the Great Leap Forward that some suggest.

Amirali, though, might just pull it off. One half Iranian, one half Canadian the producer has slowly built up momentum. Working with Crosstown Rebels, Amirali sealed off sessions on debut album ‘In Time’ earlier this year.

It’s a phenomenal effort. The bubbling bass knocks you flat out, with Amirali’s playful touches always shining through. There are some heavy moments, for sure – it’s a Crosstown release, after all – but above all what shines through is the producer’s imagination.

A London based architecture student, it’s very easy to bill Amirali as a sculptor of sound. However there is clearly a different approach going on here, one that is rooted in creativity which lies beyond the dancefloor.

As a special preview, ClashMusic have grabbed ‘My Way’ as a free download. It’s our final Track of the Day this week, and it’s something special...
