Track Of The Day 23/8 - Black Cherry

Electro Fuelled Newcomers

Black Cherry have been forced to overcome some genuine tragedy in their lives.

The London based band started making headlines last year, but sadly lost Rob Moore to illness last September. Black Cherry vowed to continue, and after completing work on their new EP decided to dedicate it to their lost friend.

Re-emerging earlier this summer, Black Cherry have dominated the festival season performing at the likes of Glastonbury, RockNess and more. Mixing classic rock moves with some electro production, the duo added a little spice to the summer.

Named "the best looking band of the festival" at this year's Glastonbury by none other than Michael Eavis, Black Cherry are driven by a love of fashion. Live, singer Megane Quashie is an explosive of energy draped in her own distinctive style.

Released in June, Black Cherry's new EP was produced in co-operation with Colin Emmanuel (formerly of the Beta Band). A blend of dance beats and killer riffs, these newcomers have the blood and thunder atmosphere of greats like The Doors and The Rolling Stones.

With more tour dates set to be announced, ClashMusic have grabbed a track from Black Cherry's new EP. 'Fake Blood' shares its name with the production duo, and is a piece of dancefloor bedlam.
