DFA All Star Project

Over the past decade New York record label DFA has straddled the twin worlds of dance and rock.

Groups such as LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture and more have blended disco, soul, rock and techno to create something unique. With the role of the record label being eroded by the growth of the internet, DFA's focussed sound, visuals and ethics have turned it into a seminal dance imprint.

Irish born producer Marcus Lambkin has been with DFA all the way, but Shit Robot is his first project for the label. A former in-house engineer Lambkin is now set to unleash his solo pseudonym.

Gathering together a lifetime of influences, Shit Robot move from punk to techno in the blink of an eye. Their eclectic debut album features an all star cast of DFA musicians, including Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor, Juan MacLean and of course James Murphy.

Due for release on September 20th, debut album 'From The Cradle To The Rave' is an integral part of the DFA story, matching the label's illustrious past with more than a few pointers for where it might be going.

To celebrate the release, ClashMusic has grabbed the TBD remix 'I Found Love' from the new album. Featuring Marcus Lambkin's inimitable vocal style, the track is demonstrates just how flexible the Shit Robot project is.
