Something Bout

Larger than life, that's Hot City.
The pair have that wideboy charm which ran through the initial rave era, all gurning chops and perma-grin smiles. DJ Haus and Benz have a rare energy, one that's seen them burn up dancefloors across the UK and beyond.
There's nothing abstract on show here. New EP 'Something Bout' is all blistering Hardcore tempos, the white heat of rave resurrected with a cheeky nod and a wink along the way. Just to soften the blow, there's the odd 2-Step flavour - a soulful vocal or two - to add some coke to that bourbon.
Part of a short series of new EPs, 'Something Bout' establishes a pattern. Each EP will feature two Hot City tracks, one remix and one original track from one of the members with artwork for the series being supplied by the team from Toaster.
For the new EP, Benz steps forward on remix duties. Grabbing 'Something Bout' by the horns, the producer slaps a fat Garage beat underneath the original track.
Oozing out the dynamics, Benz guides 'Something Bout' into an extended breakdown, letting the vocals slip over one another. Then the bass returns, driving the track forward as the crackle of the snare threatens to rip everything apart.
