Nu Jazz Preview

Portico Quartet are bringing experimental jazz to a new audience.

These four young musicians from East London bring a unique sound to their second album 'Isla' with the sax, double bass and hang creating hypnotic music worthy of our coveted "track of the day"

In just a few years Portico Quartet's beautiful music has taken them from busking on Londons Southbank, to a Mercury Prize nomination, to performing at the Royal Opera House and recording at Abbey Road with producer John Leckie.

Famed as a nurturer of young bands, Leckie has brought a powerful clarity to the bands music and Isla is a darker, more mature, expansive statement than their debut, 'Knee Deep In The North Sea'. However, it is still very much a Portico Quartet Album.

Listen to 'Isla' now...
