The first half of the Noughties saw indie rock make a charge on the mainstream, pushing dance music back into a ghetto.

However the past five years have been witness to the rise of French electro. Blistering house beats, the style has conquered the globe notching up bona fide hit singles and turning producers into instantly recognisable stars.

Arguably kick-starting the entire movement were Justice. Clad in leather jackets, the duo subverted the bloated rock scene by pushing their hedonism one step further. Debut album '†' was an immediate success, propelled by the enormous hit single 'D.A.N.C.E.' back in the summer of 2007.

Eventually selling more than one million hit singles worldwide, 'D.A.N.C.E.' was followed by an epic tour but then years of silence. More than five years on from their debut, Justice are preparing to release a follow up.

Lead single 'Civilisation' is a typically scorching return. Pushing their electro sound onto the next level, Justice have lost none of their edge. Given the remix treatment, one of the re-workings to tickle our fancy is by Mr Oizo.

Oizo presaged the whole electro-house movement, but has come to release some of the scene's most vital cuts. Re-working 'Civilisation' the new remix is already firing up dancefloors across the globe.
