Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

Beginning our Moshi Moshi festive Track of the Day takeover are Sheffield's Slow Club with their take on the Darlene Love classic 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)'.
The duo, Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor, recently announced details of a May 2011 tour to accompany their second album and play their annual Christmas show at London's Union Chapel, this year with The Wave Pictures and Sweet Baboo, on December 22nd.
As well as serenading us with their Christmas song, Clash caught up with the pair to ask subject them to our festive Q&A:
What was your favourite Christmas present as a child?
Rebecca: Was pretty jazzed about a bear that repeated what you said when you said something to it, but my Dad took out the thing that made it do that which was pretty depressing.
Charles: Roller blades.
Which gift did you want but never get?
Rebecca: Immortality
Charles: I don't want to talk about it.
How did you learn the truth about Santa Claus?
Charles: Truth?
Favourite Christmas?
Charles: 1999
Did you take part in Christmas plays / musicals at school?
Rebecca: Yes, of course. I was the leading lady (Mary) at church once and they gave me a real baby to hold, that was terrifying.
Charles: I was Joseph
Favourite Christmas song?
Charles: Stay by East 17
Rebecca: Baby Please Come Home (the slow club version)
Person you’d most like to meet under the mistletoe?
Rebecca: That child Harry Styles off the X Factor
Ideal Christmas party – venue, house band etc?
Rebecca: My bed, nobody else and endless episodes of 'Miranda' please.
What have you asked Santa for this year?
Rebecca: Health, some health
Charles: No more council tax
Post Christmas hangover / detox tips?
Charles: Hot pork sandwich
Favourite part of the Christmas meal?
Rebecca: The sleep afterwards
Charles: The beginning
Any embarrassing Christmas stories?
Charles: I once ate a spoon full of cinnamon and was a bit sick
Brussel Sprouts – food heaven or food hell?
Charles: Hell
Rebecca: Heaven, well, not exactly heaven but i like a sprout.
Where are you spending Christmas this year?
Rebecca: We'll both be up north.
Favourite Christmas film?
Rebecca: Muppet Christmas Carol durr.
Do you watch the Queen’s speech?
Rebecca: I do with me Nan
Charles: No.
