Weird Mirror

Hardcore will never die.
Inevitably tied to a strict fastdrumsfastriffsfastvocals template, in reality the punk offshoot is one of the most fertile areas of musical exploration around. Currently in the middle of a resurgence, Dope Body are busy pushing the boundaries back yet further.
Forming in Baltimore (doesn't everything great just now come from there?) Dope Body started life playing one minute songs, pouring out sweat and liquor at house parties and basement shows.
Gradually evolving, Dope Body retained their love of primal, feral thrash but started throwing in some avant ideas. Working with Drag City, new album 'Natural History' could well make their biggest impression yet.
From start to finish, 'Natural History' is non-stop adrenalin; all vein popping riffs and skin-tight solos Dope Body manage to narrow their often sprawling sonic template into just nine tracks.
Blink and you'll miss it, 'Natural History' is one of the freshest sounding Hardcore albums to come our way in some time. Brutal, yet, but Dope Body's brutality is one of artistic frankness, a refusal to excuse you from some of the uglier sounds in their arsenal.
'Weird Mirror' opens with a guitar being re-wired, before exploding into chunky Black Flag style riffage and powerhouse, unrelenting vocals.
