One of more unusual labels operating in British independent music, Fence has become closely linked to a certain sound and a certain place.
Acoustic strummers from Fife are the order of the day, it seems. Yet our preconceptions have been turned on their head by the new album from The Shivers - an indie duo from New York.
On the surface an usual release for Fence, The Shivers new album 'More' demonstrates the label's wide palette. The band share a love of DIY, of remaining independent and building a community through word of mouth.
Enticed over to these shores by the Fence crew, The Shivers will release their new album later this year. First, though, comes the lead single: stripped from the LP, title cut 'More' will be given a new lease of life.
Out now, 'More' is a remorseful ode to love lost. Suiting the sombre topic, the new video finds the band wandering through the forest in search of singer Keith Zarrielo's long departed lover.
