Maxïmo Ale

Maximo Park were always proud Geordies but they are perhaps the smuggest leather clad fellows in the North East of the UK after Newcastle Brown the ‘distinctively’ flavoured Ale renamed their beer in honour of the band.

Maximo Brown Ale went on sale to coincide with their special show at the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on 15th December they had the brewery break ranks in honour of their musical ascension.

It’s quite an honour and one the good folk of the north east don’t bestow regularly. The last (and only) person previously given this responsibility was Alan Shearer on his retirement from football.

As Maximo’s Paul Smith adds: “So many amazing things have happened for our band in a short space of time and to have our image emblazoned on a Brown label is another addition to that list. It would be great for our band to be as synonymous with Newcastle as the mighty Brown Ale, and it's both amusing and an honour to be able to deface the label in this manner!
