Dub Pistols were a soundsystem before they were ever a band.
Spinning reggae and dancehall for the masses, the collective honed an identity which was political with a small ‘p’ – it’s an identity Dub Pistols return to with a vengeance on their new album ‘Worshipping The Dollar’.
An anti-Imperialist statement during the year of the Jubilee, ‘Worshipping The Dollar’ is one of the group’s most pointed, energised efforts in some time. Barry Ashworth leads the way musically, taking the helm and giving the sessions focus. Yet in reality, each member contributes with the collective voice adding up to something bigger, something more important than they would be apart.
Out now on Sunday Best, ‘Worshipping The Dollar’ finds Dub Pistols moving forward without losing sight of their roots. ClashMusic has been granted the exclusive stream – listen to the album in full below.
