Hadouken! Interview

Look ahead to RockNess...

Hadouken! are the guiltiest of guilty pleasures.

The Leeds group's mixture of indie rock and grime has seen them pilloried by both scenes. Outcasts amongst outcasts, whoever said breaking ground was easy?

Returning earlier this year with their second album, Hadouken! have moved into a more straight ahead dance vein. Swapping dirty beats for some face melting electro, the band have delighted hardcore fans.

Reaching out into the dance world, Hadouken! have played a number of dates around the country. Recently stopping by Newcastle's Evolution, the band are now focussed on Scotland's wildest party - RockNess.

To celebrate, ClashMusic have tracked down Hadouken! to probe their festival memories...

What was your first festival experience?
The sunday at Reading Festival 2000 with Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot, & Blink182, I would have been 14.

What is your best festival moment?
Usually the simple things are the highlights of any festival, just sitting round a campfire drinking with friends till the sun comes up is often the best bit of the weekend.

What is your worst festival moment? / Most embarrassing festival moment?
Dancing on stage with Andrew Wk in Sweden last summer.

Best festival performance ever seen?
I got to watch Rage Against The Machine from beside the front of house desk in Leeds in 2008 which was incredible. Also Radiohead headlining last year and Arctic Monkeys/Klaxons packing out the Carling tent in 2005 & 6.
