Electro-pop mash-up newbies 80kidz here take the reins for the next instalment of our mix series. Hailing from Japan, the trio have recently begun making waves across the UK and wider Europe by playing alongside the likes of Hot Chip and Boys Noize, and remixing CSS and Black Kids. Hip, eh?

Accordingly, their mix is a glorious electro showcase – ludicrously fun but also displaying an impressive knowledge of some little-known but great sounds. To be found on the mix are experimental crossover outfit Health, the lovely ambi-house sounds of Low Motion Disco and electro-house act The Juan MacLean. Also included is the infectious recent single from 80kidz themselves, ‘Miss Mars’.

Covering all sorts of electronic territory, the mix straddles house, disco, and just the right amount of unapologetically eighties-esque synth-pop. Yep, break out that old Casio tucked away in the attic and revel in the retro – you’ll never look back.

In the words of The Who, the kidz are indeed alright, and then some.
