More than a half century on from its publication, 'The Catcher In The Rye' remains a searing, controversial novel. Famously the most banned book of all time, JD Salinger's tome has now inspired Norwegian duo Datarock.

Taken from their latest album, 'Catcher In The Rye' is a typically catchy piece of electro-pop. Datarock don't really do reinvention, merely refining an already intoxicating format - find a chorus, wrap it around a synth riff and repeat until done.

Released as a free download, if you want 'Catcher In The Rye' on a physical format you may have to cough up some serious dough. Datarock have prepared 'The Most Extravagant Single In The World' - a new format containing a custom designed USB drive, stored inside a vinyl toy, and packed with over 100 songs, 1500 photos, 20 music videos, and a full concert film.

Not so much a single as a total entertainment package, Datarock really are spoiling us. However if you've not got the greenbacks to pick up the physical release, feast your eyes on the vivid new video...
