As previously reported on ClashMusic.com, dance duo Simian Mobile Disco are among the acts signed up to curate special nights at London’s newest club venue, matter.

Taking place this Friday, October 3, James Ford and James ‘Jaz’ Shaw have selected the following to line up at matter:

Simian Mobile Disco (DJ set), Lindstrom (live), Dusty Kid (live), Shit Robot (live), Emperor Machine (live), Riton, Nadia Kasabia, Foamo, Adventures Close to Home (DJs)

As a preview for the night, Clash invited Jaz Shaw to give us an insight into his cultural favourites. This expanded format is based on the Culture Clash features you can read in every issue of Clash magazine – be sure to check them out.

Wild At Heart - a great film and the only film good film with Nick Cage in ever. Ever.

I love Tin Drum by Gunter Grass. But I don't own a tin drum.

Lindstrom's new album, ‘Where You Go I Go Too’, is really, really good. Go buy it.

There is a track called ‘808 Melody’ by Uncle O. It's not long on melody but it's got a fair bit of 808.

"...like the internet has come to life"

Holiday destination

Japan - it's as good as people say it is. Like the internet has come to life.

Gig venue

Moles, in Bath, is an underrated little gem.

Chrome Hoof are awesome live, and they dress up funny.
