Clash Live in March - Full Listings
Featuring Patrick Wolf, It Hugs Back, Eugene McGuinness, and more!
Clash has not one, not two, but three live London events in the month of March to get your ears buzzing rather excitingly.
And if you're reading this NOW, you've already missed our Hoxton show with The Answering Machine, Casiokids and Flashguns. Unlucky.
But this weekend we've a magic double-header to see you nicely into spring with a bounce in your step and a smile on your mug…
On March 28, the Clash Saturday Social once again drifts into the weekly RoTa afternoon at the Notting Hill Arts Club for four hours of free-entry fresh new sounds. And this promises to be a belter, as we’ve three Genuinely Going Somewhere acts lined up. Case you missed it: that’s free entry, assuming you’re aged 18 or over. We will be checking.
Playing live are 4AD-signed sweetly lo-fi indie sorts It Hugs Back (pictured, Live Talking interview HERE), whose debut album ‘Inside Your Guitar’ is penciled in for an April 6 release. The swoon-inducing foursome are soon to hit the continent alongside Holy Fuck, so see ‘em up close and intimate while you can!
Also appearing are fidget-pop Manchester five-piece Dutch Uncles, whose ‘Face In’ track from their debut self-titled album (out now!) has been enjoying HEAVY rotation in the Clash office (REVIEW); and Animal Kingdom, who magazine readers will soon see in our Ones To Watch section telling all about their melodious grandeur. They’re supporting Snow Patrol ahead of their Saturday Social slot, and have inked a deal with Warner Bros, so again: this is a potentially massive band in a very small venue, so Do Not Miss.
And we’ll have Silver Rocket DJs on the ones and twos for the afternoon. Nice. Find the event on Facebook HERE.
That’s March 28, Notting Hill Arts Club, 4pm-8pm, FREE ENTRY (over 18s only). Seriously, it’s going to be BIG.***
And the very next day, on March 29 at the Lock Tavern in Camden (from about 3pm), we’ve a delicious afternoon (extra tasty if you factor in the pub’s wicked roasts) in store to nurse sore heads back into a Monday mindset: Eugene McGuinness, The Laurel Collective and Karima Francis. And entry, again, is free!
Eugene, we hope, you’ll know all about – but if it’s an introduction you’re needing, click no further than THIS interview and THIS great, exclusive acoustic session. Excellently inventive indie types The Laurel Collective we’ll have plenty to tell you about soon enough, as we’ve something pretty exciting in store around their new EP; and Karima Francis is a newcomer whose songs have seen her celebrated by the Sunday Times and Daily Mail – expect heartfelt songs of utmost impact.
Plus we've DJ action from Patrick Wolf. Perhaps you've heard of him. Tidy. Get more information HERE.
*** April's Saturday Social @ RoTa is held on April 25 - same time, same place - and features Copy Haho, Pulled Apart By Horses and Calories. Find the event on Facebook HERE.
