Lock Up session

Indie-dance collective Citizens! perform their track 'True Romance' for the first ever Topman Ctrl Lock Up Session.
‘True Romance’ is what propelled them into being one of 2012’s most promising artists, as it was picked up by popular record label Kitsune and for a very disturbing video featuring a psychotic disfigured puppeteer by creative video making group High Five Collective, who have also made a video for Odd Future’s Frank Ocean.
The band adjusted their dials and re-arranged their tunes to deliver an incredible song with no mics, mixers or tricks - just bare essentials are used in this video for an untouched and very personal performance.
The ethos of the Topman Ctrl Lock Up Sessions is to send bands on the up back to their roots to challenge them in the most bare environments with minimal kit and limited power to see what the outcome is. What you see and hear is what you get.
The band are also in this month’s issue of Clash, which sees the newcomers involved in some gravity defying photography. Their debut album ‘Here We Are’ is released May 28th on Kitsune and was produced by Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos.
