3. Swim
Best Of 2010 Albums - Caribou

Caribou's 'Swim' was one of those albums this year that somehow managed to worm its way into everybody's aural cavities. We witnessed the metamorphosis of Dan Snaith's sonic vocabulary, watching as he confidently broke free from the tethered chains of psych-pop. “I didn't really want people to be thinking that I was just one of those retro guys who wanders around in bell bottoms. I didn't want to end up in this Sixties psychedelic ghetto,” he told Clash. The ubiquitous Snaith tirelessly toured the festival circuit this summer, popping up everywhere from Field Day to Offset and Big Chill, taking his amplified clubland bangers with him and his brand new live band.

Best Bit: The screeching yelp of 'Odessa''s fluid electronic ditty implores you to edge your feet towards the dance floor and dive straight in.
