The latest round up...

The summer months have gone and we are now looking to the new autumn releases, along with the weird and wonderful things that have been happening all over Northern Ireland this summer.
First up lets shake it up with a bit of dance music with Casion. Casion is an enigmatic artist whose style is somewhat different from the usual, what with his music consisting of a modified game boy. Casion is the wonderfully talented Jamie Lowry armed with his old game boys, he has been hotting up the scene all summer long with his take on the dance scene. I never imagined myself dancing along to the electronic sounds of a computer console, but I have to admit I was taken back when I caught Casion's set at Glasgowbury as quite like the rest of the crowd I couldn't get enough of it. A truly fun artist, check out Casion's music on Soundcloud below - but you really need to imagine yourself in a field with a few hundred others to get the full affect of his sounds.
Next up check out the brilliant Silhouette well known for their hit featured on the welcome to Northern Ireland advertisement. This band is more than a one hit wonder, the wonderfully enigmatic Shauna Tohill takes the lead of this band and boy does she command the stage. A force to be reckoned with, the bands brand of melody filled catchy anthems get the crowd going. A favourite of the NI festival circuit this summer has seen Silhouette grow from strength to strength with their own sound of eclectic energetic pop.
Silhouette - Running Against the Wall
Now we have the amazing Trucker Diablo who will be sharing the stage with not only my favourite new band The Black Keys but also the almighty Foo Fighters at T Vital this week. Trucker Diablo have been around for about four years now and are still going strong with their infectious guitar riffs and catchy simple lyrics, this band play one hell of a brutal rock set, music that is the perfect backdrop to any classic rock party. The band form an all mighty union that is sure to blast your ears with a beauty of noise. Check out their single 'Drink Beer Destroy' below..
Trucker Diablo - Drink Beer, Destroy
Psychedelic rockers Chocolate Love Factory have recently released this brilliant new video for their track 'Motivator'.
Chocolate Love Factory - Motivator
The video with its quirky little start in a bar that leads to a ruckus causing bull fight, very much sums up this band with their ferocity of guitar playing and fierceness they can be likened to the Northern Irish version of Queens of the Stone age, a troublesome threesome for sure.
The artist which defines this summer for me however has to be the legend that is Therapy? I have never had the chance to catch the excellence that is Therapy? before and it is hard to believe that they have come out of Northern Ireland and been going strong for over two decades, but this summer I managed to catch them in all their glory at their headline set at Glasgowbury. The band have had their ups and downs, members coming and going but one thing that's always remained is their passion and dedication to the music and that was pure to see as they took to the stage as darkness fell over the campsite and they were back to full on form of their hay days in the 90s. The band were on fire and they were joined with the incendiary drumming of Alan Lynn from LaFaro, as Neil Cooper had to sit this set out due to other commitments. The intensity of the guitar riffs combined with the raw vocals of Andy Cairns and the pure rawness of drumming made for a brutally raw and infectious performance that had the crowd going in a word insane. Check out the classic 'Screamager' below...
Therapy? - Screamager
This month has also seen some new releases from the likes of Third Man Theme with their new track 'Round Pound', if you fancy a taste of post punk and synth then give it a little whirl.
Punk rockers Tied to Machines also release some new music in the form of the 'Carla' EP, if you like the hectic mess that is NI Punk I would give it a try, as it's always good for a little rage if nothing else.
Finally have a gander at Amateur Historians' new music 'These Cities Are Stealing My Soul' which is one of the new tracks from the band's upcoming debut EP 'New Homes / New Hopes'. The music is simply pleasant indie...
Well there goes another month and with it the end of summer, let's hope Autumn brings us more beautiful things for our ears to enjoy and discover. For now keep on listening!
