University Of Westminster Does High Summer On ASOS

Second year students produce collections for the brand's Marketplace store.

It’s what every design student worth their flatforms dreams of, seeing Joe Bloggs donning their wears. This summer-for the second running-ASOS have made this dream a reality for second year students from University of Westminster, with a limited edition capsule collection on ASOS Marketplace.

Students from both the BA (Hons) Fashion Design and BA (Hons) Fashion Buying Management courses have produced seven collections, among them ‘1909’ (Ballet Russe inspired with heavy embellishment), a menswear line of hand printed tees and technical underwear, ‘Fellow Workshop’ and ‘Exoh’, a womenswear collection of sports inspired pieces.

Each collection was produced as a group project, with the design students working to briefs set by the brand last year, and the management lot making a marketing plan to include branded packaging, a shoot and a look book.

From the university that gave us Claire Barrow and Ashley Williams, the result is a unique selection of 42 garments available for a slice of the price they might one day fetch.
