Tutti Frutti: A Kit Neale Mixtape

As Opening Ceremony launches in Selfridges, the collaborator produces a fruity playlist.

“Alrite babes, here's our fruity playlist.” As Opening Ceremony sets up shop on Selfridges’ 3rd floor, Kit Neale has devised a mixtape of his favourite fruit filled tunes for us here at Clash.

Not just a means for Neale to trial his tracklisting skills, the eight song list borrows its focus from the designer’s capsule collection for the store within a store, titled Tutti Frutti.

In position from today ‘til 5th January, shoppers at the Oxford Street store are able to enjoy a slice of home away from home, if their home looks like the best laid shop we’ve clapped eyes on…

As well as Kit’s line, collabs on sale come courtesy of DKNY, Chloë Sevigny, adidas Originals and the much adored Elvis range.

Tutti Frutti was originally the name of an installation designed by Neale in collaboration with ‘Architectural Foodsmiths’, Bompas & Parr, as part of IncrEdibles, a festival held at Kew Gardens back in June celebrating the diversity of edible plants.

Adorned with the usual bright prints for which he is known – and with a suitably jolly label on the back of the jeans – Kit worked with Kew Gardens archive imagery of edible fruits to come up with said patterns.

With names like ‘Big Banana Berry Track Pants’ and ‘Apple Berry Medley Travel Bomber’, you’d be forgiven for confusing the range with a round from the Great British Bake Off.
