The Fairest Isle Of All: Lyle & Scott

A new film launches the label's Fairisle collection.

The voice overheard reads aloud a script referencing the 17th century poet George Mackay Brown,

“The cold horizons called,
Families waved good-bye,
Boats brake waves of salt,
Under angry woollen skies.”

The blond haired figure of Benjamin Jarvis takes the lead, wrapped up in Lyle & Scott AW13, with the thrashing waves and violent shores an atmospheric support.

Teaming up with White Label, Lyle & Scott have chosen to introduce their new Fairisle collection with ‘The Fairest Isle of All’, a short film that adds a further depth to the patterns of the pieces that form the collection.

Depicting the story of the Fair Isle knitwear tradition – shared for many centuries by Scottish and Norwegian fishermen – the film was directed by Alabama with Stuart Cosgrove responsible for the script, read by Callum O’Neil.
