When is a skate video not just a skate video? When the affection for and reality of its surroundings envelope the whole thing, like in the case of William Strobeck’s ‘Pussy Gangster’.
Shot in Paris for Supreme, the ten minute short showcases talent from the likes of Tyshawn Jones, Sage Elsesser, Kevin Bradley and Sean Pablo; Ben Kadow, Greg Blobys, Kevin Rodrigues and Vincent Touzery – meanwhile exposing the pockets of the city it cares to tour; at 10:04 minutes there’s even a sly (sort of) nod to Parisian romance. Watch it here.
And its location and timing is no accident: the visual drop is part marker of Supreme’s arrival in the French capital, with the opening yesterday of a new store at 20 Rue Barbette in Le Marais.
Only the second bricks and mortar store in Europe (following London’s Soho residence), the shop will follow its counterparts (elsewhere in the US and Japan), selling apparel, boards and footwear.
