Three guys and a girl who go by a one word name; Percival could be your new favourite band. We’ve yet to throw any instruments their way, but let’s presume the day job suits them better shall we?
Set up in 2009 as you’ll no doubt know, Chris Gove and Luke Stenzhorn were soon joined by Olivia Hegarty and Jacob Sorkin and thus Percival was born. Last year their first permanent store opened in Soho, and the space continues as a key Berwick Street fixture today.
Producer of fine wax jackets, printed shirts and jersey not to be sniffed at, the label offers an assortment of the finer things in life for the guy who’d prefer not to enter a department store.
Here they share five favourites:
‘London is the Place for Me’ Lord Kitchener - For a bit of summertime calypso in the shop.
‘I Melt with You’ Modern English - Classic 80s tune from a band whose name roughly describes our aesthetic?
‘Elephant’ Tame Impala – Psyche-pop! With a powerful bassline.
‘Arena’ Suuns - These Canadians have a brilliant new album out, but we're still listening to this ace motorik number from their first EP on the shop floor.
‘White Fright’ - Bass Drum of Death - Because this is the best named band of all time?
