To celebrate the label’s debut store residency and with the added thrill of presenting the SS15 look book in a new context, Studio White Label has collaborated with Ellis Scott on a one-off in-store exhibition.
The images – shot by Scott on location in Tel Aviv – are a mix of fashion and landscape as per the pair’s decision ahead of shooting, to approach the campaign as a project as opposed to a flat fashion shoot; as well as non-specific city streets, Rishpon Sculpture park and Danny Karavan’s White City pose as backdrops.
Just two models feature, streetcast by Ellis and Studio White Label while in Israel; Jacob, a Somali refugee and Egal, a one-time trance promoter who now stays home to look after his children. The choice of the two men, they say, reflects the label’s continued interest in identity and people’s relationships with the subject.
‘Creativity should never be overshadowed by its creator’ the brand declares across its social channels, defining itself as a ‘combined output collaborative project’; hence the white label tag, a bid to mirror the music industry’s white label practice.
The pop-up itself – open now until 9th February at 33 Marshall Street – is the first in a series of collaborative events the brand will work on across 2015; exclusive Studio White Label product features, plus several ‘carefully curated’ items from online microstore, The Rudai.
