SoKo For Hugo SS17

The Garden also appear in the new campaign.

For all intents and purposes, 2016 was Harley Weir’s year: from the photographer’s campaign for Calvin Klein that caused controversy back in spring, to the launch of her debut exhibition at Amsterdam’s FOAM gallery in December, while elsewhere many were left disheartened, Weir’s career, at least, boasted numerous highlights.

And it seems the trend is to continue into 2017, as Hugo launches its SS17 campaign, lensed by Harley in a Californian desert.

Starring French musician SoKo alongside OC twins Wyatt and Fletcher Shears – who between them make up The Garden – as well as the model Anwar Hadid (brother to Gigi and Bella), the campaign’s line-up is the product of original spirit and energy, according to the brand, which hopes to tap into a generation whose lives play out in tandem with digital culture: the campaign has been named Digital Oasis.

While the collection itself boasts clean silhouettes and, for the most part, a clean palette of white and navy, self-proclaimed ‘White Goth’ SoKo brings her own aesthetic to proceedings with the addition of jewellery and nails painted black; likewise The Garden wear a mish mash of earrings and chains, while Hadid’s ‘1999’ tattoo finds the limelight amongst Weir’s imagery.
