Rising Tensions: Agi & Sam x The Woolmark Company

The menswear label celebrates AW17 with a new short.

As its moniker alludes, menswear label Agi & Sam – founded by Agape Mdumulla and Sam Cotton in 2010 – is fiercely in favour of collaboration, something that shone through at its recent AW17 presentation.

Hooking up with London based broadcasters Boiler Room (which co-incidentally also came about in 2010), the duo rejected the more traditional catwalk show usually reserved for press and buyers, instead streaming the collection’s debut live across the net for all parties to enjoy, soundtracked by Holy Other live.

Elsewhere the cloth based line-up itself was the product of further collaboration with The Woolmark Company, with whom the duo have also produced a new short, above, titled Rising Tensions.

Not the first time the two have made partners, Agi & Sam x The Woolmark Company initially worked together for SS17 with the bleach washed film, The Modern Husband. In contrast, Rising Tensions follows two protagonists – models Liam Gardner and Simeon Blake Hall – as they make their way around London at night, from council estates to pool halls and corner shops, a visual entry point into the season’s themes (read: the celebration of nations, cultures and communities).
