In a similar vein to last year’s Warp x Tate late event, tonight the gallery will play host to Rinse FM as part of the station’s 20th anniversary celebrations (here).
Labeled ‘an evening exploring futuristic frequencies in music and fashion’, the event at Tate Britain sees Rinse partner east London fashion agency a number of names*, boasting a complimentary program amongst which the likes of Nasir Mazhar and Cav Empt feature.
While the latter will preview its SS15 collection in the UK for the first time (soundtracked by Rezzett), Mazhar joins Katie Eary, Venus X, DJ Spoony, Rollo Jackson and Ben UFO on a panel discussion led by the journalist Dean Kissick; the group will make the case for links between fashion and music as well talking up cycles and trends.
Elsewhere cult British label Duffer of St George will premier ‘Style Brokers’, a documentary by designer Marco Cairns’s daughter Stroma; initially a personal project, the one off film observes the label’s mark on the British streetwear scene.
Live performances, music production masterclasses and digital art from Claudia Maté, Eva Papamargariti, Jack Addis, Katie Torn and Daniel Swan also make up the night, which kicks off at 6pm.
