NikeLab Dunk Lux High x RT

The brand taps Riccardo Tisci for round two.

It doesn’t drop until 11th February, but you can bet it’ll debut on Instagram way before next Thursday.

Boasting an allure familiar to the original 2014 Air Force 1 hook up, the NikeLab Dunk Lux High x RT sees the sports heavyweight teaming up once again with Givenchy’s longstanding creative director, Riccardo Tisci.

“The Nike Dunk has a fascinating legacy,” comments Tisci. “It has been both mainstream and niche, adopted by communities of varying size and influence. But no matter the model, the Dunk has always had a cultural cachet that, as a designer, I’m quite drawn to.”

“The shoe not only needed to convey Riccardo’s creative interpretation of it,” adds NikeLab’s Senior Design Director of Footwear Innovation, Nate Jobe, “but also needed to perform.”

First launched for the basketball court in 1985, the model has long been adopted by street culture, worn by skaters in the late 90’s and appropriated by just about everyone today. The new shoe is subtly reimagined with exaggerated proportions, a quilted leather collar lined with memory foam, and a cool monochrome exterior.
