From the Lolita connotations to the general fun factor provided, heart shaped glasses are an icon of the four eyed world. Once reserved for fashion editorials and gal pal roadtrips across the States, the last five years has seen the shape trump the traditional.
And now a charity has claimed the style as it’s own.
Taking the apt title ‘Love Specs’, Love Support Unite – which sustains the Tilinanu Orphanage in Malawi – sells variations of the glasses (pink, red, white, black…) offering multi heart vision too, literally, with a glance through the lenses.
With the sale of each pair providing vaccinations, medical services and skills workshops (the charity pockets 100% of the profits), the glasses can also boast a warm fuzzy feeling inside, a feat few rivals can better.
