Rare is the catwalk show that takes place minus a beat, such is the strength a lending hand from Mr. DJ can offer.
However ‘fabulous’, ‘gorge’ or ‘maje’ a collection is, the lack of a backing track – or indeed the wrong one – can transform a show from a piece of theatre to an uncomfortable meeting of people you recognise from Instagram (as much of your row will likely be).
Like great casting, the right choice of music can enhance a collection no end.
Here are nine that did just that:
Topman Design went for Echo & The Bunneymen’s ‘The Killing Moon’ to finish up.
Alan Taylor opened MAN with ‘Arabella’ by Arctic Monkeys.
Bobby Abley mixed Disney with M.I.A. ‘Meds and Feds’.
‘Listen To Your Heart’ by Roxette closed Craig Green.
James Long on the other hand went for Air’s ‘Sexy Boy’.
Savages’ ‘Shut Up’ featured at Casely-Hayford.
Morrissey’s ‘Irish Blood English Heart’ provided a rush at Sibling.
Katie Eary chose Pixies ‘Where Is My Mind’.
And Christopher Shannon caught everyone’s attention with True Steppers & Dane Bowers feat. Victoria Beckham ‘Out of Your Mind’.
