Writing about events taking place on Friday night first thing on a Monday morning is a bit like planning the honeymoon before you've even got engaged. Still, if a girl can dream about her wedding from the age of ten without (much) judgement, we think we can tell you about Fashion Late and not feel that much of a phony. Even if we'd really rather be tucked up in bed still.
So, Fashion Late is a one off fashion hotspot put on by students from Central Saint Martins this Friday-1st March-in the British Library, home of course to "The World's Knowledge". Completely unique in its content, ambition and drive, the event will stage 'In Conversation With…' style talks from the likes of Dylan Jones, Iain R Webb, Camilla Morton and Tanya Ling; a History of the Fashion Press display, postcards from CSM alumni (including Christopher Kane, Alex Fury and Gareth Pugh), Costume Drawing and Fashion Illustration Portraiture workshops and a Show and Tell of pieces from archivists and collectors. Plus cocktails, a photo booth (!) and DJ sets from Princess Julia and Jeffrey Hinton, as all happy parties should have.
