J.W.Anderson Taps A$AP Rocky

The pair hook up for new JWA x ASAP ROCKY and AWGE line.

As anyone who follows the fashion industry even sort of closely will recognise, those who like to collaborate, really like to collaborate. Be it for financial, creative or other reasons, the outcome of two parties can oft paint a picture prettier than one.

Months after putting his name to a successful hook up with Guess Originals then, A$AP Rocky is now at it again, this time collaborating with the London based label of designer Jonathan Anderson (alongside J.W.Anderson he’s also creative director at the Spanish Loewe).

“What we do is completely different,” the latter told The New York Times, who broke the news (here), “but fundamentally, that’s the beauty of fashion: You can meet in the middle on it.”

A prominent fan of the Irish designer, having both performed in his garms and turned up for FROW duties in a full catwalk look, the rapper has reworked the J.W.Anderson track top from AW15 as part of a series that includes beanies, tracksuit bottoms and, the likely hero piece, a teddy fur jacket.

Comprised of just eight garments in total, each part of the capsule boasts the custom ‘JWA x ASAP ROCKY and AWGE’ label in some capacity, while black forms the base colour throughout.

Arriving IRL and online from Monday – the day after Anderson presents his SS17 menswear collection as part of London Collections: Men – pre-orders are already being taken.
