Fashion Round Up: 18/04

Clash plays catch up with the week’s most fashionable headlines (or something to that effect).

On Tuesday ‘Angels’ Candice Swanepoel and Adriana Lima announced at a British press event that Victoria’s Secret’s 2014 show would be coming to London. The lingerie label – founded in San Francisco in 1977 – has paraded its wares since 1995, but this is the first time the show will take place in the UK.

Feminist commentators have long been vocal about the event, while the fashion press has claimed it as its own, thanks in part to the use contemporary models such as Cara Delevingne – as opposed to the more traditional catalogue underwear models – while bands like Neon Jungle have performed.

This year’s event will take place at Earl’s Court on 2nd December.

Elsewhere adidas this week confirmed its latest collaboration, with the Greek born designer Mary Katrantzou.

Based in London, Katrantzou is famous for her prints – swapped for applique next season – and has previously lent her talent to collections for Current Elliot and Topshop; adidas too, has recently paired up with the Philip Green owned latter label.

Set for a November launch, the line will be comprised of both apparel and footwear, as Katrantzou states: "I'm really excited to be working with adidas. I grew up, like so many other kids around the world, wearing adidas trainers and I'm really excited about bringing my vision to such a global brand. They have a fantastic heritage and their ability to innovate in sportswear makes them the perfect partner for us to work with in this market.”

Lastly, for those hoping to celebrate Record Store day with new tunes and threads tomorrow, the Shoreditch based shop Mr. Start is offering a 10% discount for anyone who can present a receipt from an independent record store purchased on the day.

The Brix Start Smith owned boutique – she of The Fall fame – will also be serving up the beers, so now you know.
