Fashion Round Up: 16/08

The King, a super and some sportswear.

As we put the finishing touches to our forthcoming Fashion Special (in the meantime check out the Mac Miller fronted mag that dropped this week), the fashion planet continues to spin. Jamie Hawesworth has again caused our jaws to drop to the floor, while H&M and Y-3 have also chosen choice partners in crime.

Celebrating Elvis Week as only they know how, Opening Ceremony have produced a range of tees, jumpers and jackets inspired by the King. Shirts are covered in red hearts, T-shirts offer a black and white Elvis print, while studs spell out his name.

The label asked Jamie Hawkesworth to shoot the accompanying images, flying him out to Memphis to shoot the clothes on the people who fill the city. Should our sources be correct, Covent Garden will get their drop tomorrow.

Also this week, H&M debuted their Autumn Winter 13 campaign starring our favourite Brazilian face, Gisele Bündchen.

In May the supermodel was spotted shooting on a London street, but just yesterday the images hit inboxes across town; it’s her second campaign for the label, following 2011’s initial display.

And in news forthcoming, Y-3 are to set up shop in Selfridges’ Denim Studio on Monday through to October. The announcement comes as the label – a continuing collaboration between Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto – celebrates its 10th birthday, and follows the recent opening of their new London Store.

A selection of key pieces (only) from AW13 will be available to buy in the London store, in a third floor space designed with the brand’s quite specific aesthetic in mind.
