BFC Names NEWGEN Men SS17

Ten labels will receive support from this year's scheme.

Spring’s glow is barely yet being felt enough to warrant the wearing of SS16 wares, while on the ground the AW16 press day affair is just beginning to properly kick off, which means pretty much FA to an industry so absorbed in speed.

This morning then, the British Fashion Council confirmed the latest line-up of NEWGEN Men approved designers, each who will receive sponsorship from the Topman backed scheme for SS17.

Making their NEWGEN debuts in just two months time – the same weekend, as some may have noticed, as Field Day 2K16 – will be ex-Fashion East talent Grace Wales Bonner and Central Saint Martins graduate Kiko Kostadinov (presenting a salon show and presentation respectively), while Phoebe English’s menswear line receives support for the first time and will also do a presentation.

Alongside the newbies, Alex Mullins will present a salon show, Bobby Abley, Liam Hodges, Craig Green and Cottweiler will all present on catwalk – the latter for the first time – and Diego Vanassibara and Pieter will do presentations.

“We also look forward to watching this year’s alumni Agi & Sam, Astrid Andersen and Nasir Mazhar continue their journey as established brands; heralding all that is creative and exciting about emerging talent in London,” notes Topman Marketing Director, Jason Griffiths of the labels who’ve now graduated from the platform.
