With London Collections: Men just around the corner, we asked ten designers six burning questions (in our minds at least), and asked for a cheeky snap from their studio too. To our surprise-and great pleasure-they agreed.
Astrid Andersen is the Danish export who dabbles in lace, crushed velvet and oversized shirts. Next weekend she presents her first solo show following three seasons with MAN.

Why do you do what you do?
Essentially I love what I do. For me, it’s the perfect combination of having creative freedom but within a product as relatable as clothes. I never wanted to be an artist but always felt creatively driven.
What’s your main inspiration for Spring Summer 14?
Crystal stones and the power we apply to them. How rituals and items can empower us to perform better.
Which piece from SS13/AW13 have you found yourself wearing the most?
I don’t wear my own clothes actually. It’s not created for me.
What track is the most overplayed in your studio right now?
Right now it’s a combination of ‘I Am Sold’ by James Blake and Tyler, The Creator with ‘Domo23’.
Which other designers work are you most interested to see at LC:M and why?
Again this season I’m curious to see how Craig Green will develop his aesthetics. Also (at time of interview), the MAN lineup is yet to be announced which will def be very interesting. Also Nasir Mazhar’s catwalk presentation I’m sure will be one that stops people in their steps!
Who would you most like to see wearing your clothes?
馃檪 It’s the most asked question these days! Whenever I see someone wearing it on the street, its actually the biggest compliment. When I saw NAS in one of my tees I felt a rush of teenage excitement. I would LOVE to create a custom outrageous fur coat for Andre 3000!
Astrid presents on Sunday 16th June at 13:00.
