Acne Studios: Eyewear 2016

The label drops its second lens collection.

That a popular fashion label would wait two decades before introducing eyewear to the fold, might seem perhaps like an oversight, but such is the pace at which Acne Studios has enjoyed success since 1996; and that paid off again with the cult label’s debut sunglasses collection last year.

The follow up drops this week.

Described by the Swedish HQ as ‘part of an on-going development of new expressions’ (see also the first menswear campaign, here, released back in January), the new line-up marks the arrival of ‘Indy’ and ‘Charge’, two acetate models that boast a nod to classic teardrop shaped lenses.

Colours for the latter include pink and beige, while the former taps black and turtle shades; elsewhere the original ‘Frame’ is a key silhouette, given, alongside ‘Library’, a new update for 2016 by way of metal tabs.
