Jimi
Though I'm not one to remember dates, I am reliably informed that today (September 18th) marks the anniversary of the death of perhaps the greatest rock guitarist ever - Jimi Hendrix.
There is a lot of boring sentences written around Jimi Hendrix so I'm not going to add to it. He made great music, and should have made a lot more. To this day, no one has made the guitar sound so electric.
So long Jimi!

I met the equally great Noel
I met the equally great Noel Redding - in Dundee of all places. I asked him to sign my Jimi Hendrix Smash Hits vinyl and date it 1969, but he never, and put 1999 instead. Wonder if eBay would have fallen for that?
Man I spent so many hours as
Man I spent so many hours as a kid learning Hendrix tunes, playing the Along the Watchtower solo behind my head ... Although I always wonder if he lived would he have faded into a Stevie Wonder like figure when the brilliance shined no more. Doing covers with Blue of Are You Experienced.
