TV On The..Radio?

What with all the fuss currently swamping the airwaves about the loss (and possible return) of Top Of The Pops, we suddenly got to being nostalgic for back when Oasis thrashed their way through 'Supersonic' on The Word and The Charlatans seemed to rule the roost on TFI Friday. It is sad to think all the influential tv shows have been replaced by MTV Cribs. We've gathered up some of the best TV show inspired music videos to remind you of just how cool the old droog box (Copyright : A Clockwork Orange) can be..

1) The Cribs: You're Gonna Lose Us : The Jarman Brothers come out with fists flailing and the biggest chorus since Liam and Noel put the dukes up whist Mudhoney played in the background (possibly). A pastiche of tv show 'The Word', where grannies would cover themselves with baked beans and snog tv presenters...It was the 90's, let them off.

2) The Strokes: 12:51
Julian Casablancas & Co. take their admiration for 80's arcade angst to a whole new level. Tron is a cool film, but the TV series is likely to leave you with a throbbing cranium, slack jaw and possibly having epileptic fits. A bit like seeing Crystal Catles live, then.

3) Weezer : Buddy Holly
Weezer's ode to Happy Days, possibly the most famous 'indie' music video of recent years. Spke Jonze mannaged to capture a youthful edge to the band they have been trying to replicate since, Youtube gimmicks just don't work as well (see 'Pork & Beans'). Check out The Fonz's dancing.
