X Ambassadors Announce New Album ‘Townie’

It's a return to their roots...

X Ambassadors will release new album ‘Townie’ on April 5th.

The band – Sam Nelson Harris, Casey Harris and Adam Levin – have come a long way, switching their small town roots for big city reputations. Now they’re ready to go back, embracing their history and stepping outside the metropolis.

New album ‘Townie’ is packed with small town narratives, seeking to tell stories that are often smothered. Fresh from new song ‘Deep End’ appearing in high profile MCU flick Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the trio are ready for their next statement.

Out now, new single ‘No Strings’ epitomises their approach, blending reflective lyricism with their arena-packing sonics. Of the song, Sam Nelson Harris pointed to their shared upbringing in Ithaca, upstate New York, and the impact it had on them.

He says…

Ithaca is so isolated, and growing up there like Casey and I did we did whatever we could to give ourselves little ways to escape: riding around town aimlessly on our bikes, on city busses, or in our parents cars; getting lost in the woods, getting into whatever trouble we could find, dangling our feet off the edges of waterfalls with our friends, making out with high school crushes on the cold winter night, snot dribbling into each other’s mouths… ways that make you feel like the world is bigger, and like there’s nothing holding you back from getting out there.

Sam Nelson Harris adds:

‘No Strings’ is an anthem for the lost and hungry—in forgotten cities and towns and townships all over the world—whose restlessness will always burn, and keep the fire in their bellies fed.

Out now, ‘No Strings’ is accompanied by a video shot in Ithaca itself, pieced together by their childhood friend Danny Pfeffer with the help of his students at Cornell University.

Tune in now.

Order ‘Townie’ now.
