Avant garde American artist beloved b a host of talented fans. Waits' career began as a bar-room crooner before diverting into a more left-field approach. 1983's "Swordfishtrombones" blended vaudville, jazz, field hollers and other folk influences to create something truly unique and engaging. Subsequent albums such as "Rain Dogs" has incorporated more avant garde influences such as industrial music. A true American icon.
