Ska punk legends formed by Jerry Dammers. They became a massive chart success, becoming a cultural phenomenon in the process as their 2-Tone label challenged racist preconceptions. Their song "Ghost Town" hit the charts the same week as the Brixton Riots, before internal division sidelined the band. Frontman Terry Hall led the exodus to Fun Boy Three, while Dammers struggled on with Special AKA. A further epoch making single, "Free Nelson Mandela", was to follow as this pop genius led the industry on a merry waltz.
