The Sounds Confirm New Album

Super Swedes return

Super Swedes The Sounds have announced details of their forthcoming third album ‘Crossing The Rubicon’.

The Sounds debut album ‘Living In America’ was released in 2002 and immediately caught the attention of music fans and record labels alike with its ambitious blend of punk and synth pop. Dripping with attitude, singer Maja Ivarsson seemed determined to remind everyone that the band would become one of the biggest on the planet.

That hasn’t quite happened, but The Sounds have gone on to achieve acclaim and success outside of their homeland. Follow up album ‘Dying To Say This To You’ was released in 2006 through the band’s new home of New Line, and became a cult sensation in America.

Scoring highly on the Billboard heatseekers chart, the album lead to a series of massive North American tours. Recently the band were the surprise choice of Californian punk-ska group No Doubt for their upcoming reunion tour – one of the biggest music events of the year.

Those dates will be followed by a massive headline jaunt, featuring some of the biggest venues The Sounds have played to date.

Before then, however, The Sounds will release their new album ‘Crossing The Rubicon’ on June 2nd. Partially recorded in their native Sweden the album was also put together in Los Angeles and New York.

Their most complete work to date, it puts a fresh sheen on The Sounds’ synth-punk scrawl but loses none of the energy and attitude of their live show. The first single from the album was ‘No One Sleeps When I’m Awake’ a scuzzy piece of party fun that swiftly became a firm favourite with fans.

The Sounds are set to release their new album ‘Crossing The Rubicon’ on June 2nd.
